William Monroe Burkhalter, Sr., 86, of Charleston, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at his residence. Born Wednesday, August 1, 1928, in Bath, SC, he was the son of the late Fed Burckhalter and the late Lois Joyner Burckhalter. He served as a TSGT in the United States Air Force from 1946 until 1966. He is survived by 8 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by 5 brothers and 1 sister. A memorial service was held for him at St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church. His arrangements were handled by the Palmetto Cremation Society.
