Bertie M. "Polly" Treadaway, 92, of La Marque passed away at her residence on Monday, April 25, 2016. She was born Sept. 2, 1923 in Nacogdoches, Texas to A. Clarence and Cora Birdwell. Polly was a resident of La Marque since 1951. Polly was a charter member of Highlands Baptist Church in La Marque. She looked forward to attending church each week. Polly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was involved in numerous church, schools, and community activities while raising her three children and allowing her husband to go fishing. After raising her family, she returned to work for Gulf Chemical and Metallurgical Company. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlework, gardening, reading, and going for afternoon rides with her daughter and husband. She is preceded in death by her parents and all her brothers and sisters. Polly is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Gordon Treadaway; daughters Sharon Louise Treadaway and Linda Sue Plank and husband Brad; son Charles Ray Treadaway and wife Rachel; two grandchildren James Allen Henson and Sherry LeeAnn (Henson) Garvin and husband Michael and two great grandchildren Grady Michael Garvin and Graham Gordon Garvin. Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the funeral home with Bro. Arlen Woody officiating. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. in Sacul, Texas at the Sacul Cemetery.
