Vivian M. Allen, 75, of Parsons died at 9:34 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at the Elmhaven West nursing home, the day before her 76th birthday.
She was born Dec. 23, 1926, at Fort Scott to Arvey R. and Mae (Wilson) Simons. She graduated from Fort Scott High School.
She married Calvin H. "Cal" Allen on July 3, 1942, in Fort Scott. They lived at Devon and Fort Scott before moving to Parsons in 1957. He survives of the home.
She was devoted to her home and family.
Additional survivors are three sons, Larry C. Allen and John E. Allen, both of Parsons, and Donald R. Allen of Galesburg; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Simons of Fort Scott; and two sisters, LaVon McCollom of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kathryn Scott of Andover.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday at the funeral home.
