James A. Adair

The death of James Andrew Adair occurred at Kings County Memorial Hospital on Dec 22, after a period of failing health. He was born at Donegal in 1891, son of the late Henry and Ellen (Robinson) Adair. In 1917 he married Gertrude Kilpatrick, of Upham, and resided at Picadilly. His first wife predeceased in 1946. A son, Eldon, was drowned while training at Camp Borden in 1944. He is survived by his wife, the former Mrs. Elizabeth McKenzie; two sons, Ronald and James, Piccadilly; five daughters, Mrs John (Dorothy) Dalling, Chambers Settlement; Mrs. Harry (Genevieve) Dalling, Rockville; Mrs. Ruby McFarlane, Ratters Corner; Mrs Donald (Darlene) McFarlene, Jeffries Corner, and Mrs. Donna Smith, Riverview; two step-daughters and two step-sons; one brother, Herbert, Rockville; tow sisters, Mrs. Julia Snider, Parlee Brook, and Mrs. Stella Buchanan, Carsonville; 41 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The body rested at the Wallace Funeral Home until Tuesday, when the funeral service was held from Sussex United Baptist Chruch. Rev. Harry Branscombe officiated, and Rev. N.R. Green assisted. Hymns were "Abide With Me" and "Safe in teh Arms fo Jesus". Interment was in the Trinity Cemetery at Sussex Corner. Pallbears were six grandsons, Edward Dalling, John Dalling, Jr., Leslie Dalling, Eldon McFarlane, Brian Adair and Murray Adair.
