Florence was adopted in Denver, CO and was the only known child of William and Helen. By 1880 the family was living in Port Huron, St. Clair, MI. In 1891 Florence graduated from the Drury Academy in North Adams, MA. In 1892 Florence and her friend (Alice Mills of Boston, MA) travel to Leipzig, Germany via Berlin where they were students and returned to North Adams in 1894. While in Germany she may have met Johannes "John" Roos a mechanical engineer and they later married in 1898 in North Adams, MA. She died in Cottrellville, Marine City, St. Clair, MI in 1901. Her death certificate says she had one child that died between 1898 and 1901. She died of acute endocarditis (inflammation of the inner layer of the heart). She was returned to North Adams where she was interred at Hillside Cemetery with her parents. Her mother Helen was very distraught over the death of her daughter and consequently her health was affected and passed away in 1902. Florence's husband John married 2nd Lena M. Keyte (1875-1919) 6 Apr 1904 in Michigan, they had no known children.
