Services for Joyce Elaine Williams, 84, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Rev. John D. Norvell will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her home. She was born August 21, 1931 in Lula to John Greer and Margie Smith Brooks. She attended Lula schools and graduated from Lula High School where she was active with the high school basketball team.
She married Walter Williams April 6, 1981 in Ada. Mrs. Williams was a caseworker for the Department of Human Services until her retirement. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Walt Williams, of the home; two daughters, Joy Dawn Miller and husband Mike of Ada and Tracy Ballard and husband Mickey of Ada; three step-children, Walter Williams, III of Tennessee, David Williams of Florida and Christy Davidson of Florida; four brothers, Jim Brooks and wife Ailene of Wilson, Tom Brooks of California, Charles Brooks and wife Linda of Wilson and Larry Brooks and wife Linda of California; and her grandchildren, Katrina Brown and husband Todd, Hillary Brown, Caitlin Miller, Jennifer Tenney, Michael Miller and wife Ashley, Amanda Fleming and husband Nathan and Jeremy Ballard and wife Lacy, Cooper Davidson and wife Megan, Shamblen Davidson and wife Amy, Erika and Johnathan Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Katrina Choate and Teresa Tenney; one son, John Sanford Choate, III; a brother, Roy Brooks; and three sisters, Ethylene McNeal, Ruby Davis and Mary Scroggins.
Bearers will be Mike Miller, Mickey Ballard, Tom Brooks, Jim Brooks, Charles Brooks and Larry Brooks.
