Kay Loyd Davis, 72, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Decatur.

Rev. Bobby Cates will officiate. Pallbearers include Shawn Barnhart, Isaac Davis, Dustin Davis, Tony Martinez, Danny Juarez, and Rodney Yard.

Kay was born on October 1, 1943 to Virgil and Myrtle (Rosenburg) Loyd in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage to James Lawrence Davis on May 2, 1960 in Alvord. Kay worked at Mervyns and Dillards for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slidell, was a member of the Bull Terrier Club of Dallas, Tops, and loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Davis; her sisters, Melba Schroeder and Mary McCandless; and her brothers, J.T. Loyd, Virgil Loyd Jr., and Bill Grundy.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathleen Barnhart of Slidell; her sons, Jimmy Davis of Slidell and Jeff Davis and wife Lisa of Chico; her grandchildren, Shawn Barnhart, Sarah Davis, Isaac Davis, Dustin Davis, and Taylor Davis; her great grandchild, Caysen Flippen-Barnhart; her sisters, Mildred Cauthen of Decatur, Martha Lindsey of Oklahoma City, and Alice Lawson of Runaway Bay; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
