Memorial service for Chapin W Dayton who died Friday, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pearson Allen Chapel. Disposition will be by cremation. He was 81.
Mr Dayton was born Orefino, California. He worked for the Portland Public Schools in the custodial services department. He retired in 1969.
Mr Dayton was a past master of the Eastgate Masonic Lodge, a past patron of the Eastgate Order of Eastern Star, a past royal patron of the Angelous Court Order of Amaranth, a past watchman of shepherds for the Oregon White Shrine, a past commander of the Washington Commandery Knights of Templer, a past high priest of the Royal Arch Masons, a past guardian of Bethal No. 9 and a member of Al Kader Shrine.
Survivors include his wife Helen; two sons, Roger of Vancouver, Washington and Jerry of Fullerton, California; a daughter, Lila Zimmerman of Costa Mesa, California; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
