Virginia E. (Capers) Curtin, 92, formerly of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Concordia at Rebecca Residence in Allison Park, where she resided. Born June 6, 1923, to the late Emma and Dr. Richard LeGrand Capers, from Bellefonte, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret M. Decker and Richard L. Capers, of State College. Virginia was a 1942 graduate of Bellefonte High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University and a Master of Science of Deaf Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Furst Curtin, also from Bellefonte. Over the years, the family shared residence not only in Pittsburgh, but also in Bellefonte. Virginia was a dedicated homemaker, longtime volunteer for the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and deacon of First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood. Also an avid reader and bridge player, she and her husband enjoyed entertaining and valued spending time with their good friends and family. She as a devoted mother to their son, the late Robert F. Curtin Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Marcy Wolf (Jack); grandson, Michael C. Crimmins (Donielle); great-grandchildren, Erin Crimmins and Michael W. Crimmins, of Lake Forest, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

Services and interment are private. Arrangements made by the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME.
