Joseph C Evans Dies at Home of Daughter
. Joseph C Evans passed away early Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lewis E. Tree of Sunnyside, where he had made his home for the past eight years. Mr. Evans was 73 years of age and a native of Manassa, Colo.
. In 1915 he pioneered from Utah to Idaho in a covered wagon experiencing all of the sorrows and joys of our early pioneers. In 1928 he moved to Yakima where he was employed at Congdon Orchards for 15 years and during World War II was employed at Vancouver as a shipfitter until moving to Sunnyside where he has continued to make his home with his daughter.
. Mr. Evans was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
. He was a husband of the late Adelia S. Evans who passed away 25 years ago at Burley, Idaho.
. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lewis E. Tree of Sunnyside, Mrs. Lewis A. Olsen of Park City, Utah, Mrs. Kenneth O. Hill of sholimar, Fla,,; four sons, Alvin Evans of Prosser, Tom Evans of Oxnard, Calif., Bert Evans of Richmond, Calif., Bert Evans of Richmond, Calif., and Elmer Evans of Yakima; one sister, Mrs. Lucinda Faucett of Salt Lake City, Utah; twenty-four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
