Mrs. Gladys Caddell Alley, age 62, widow of John Alley, died Tuesday at her home in Detroit, Michigan. Survivors: sons, Joe L. Shugart, Hacienda Heights, Calif., Jack R. Shugart, Detroit, Michigan; 7 grandchildren, brother, L. L. Caddell, Knoxville, sisters, Mrs. Alma Camel(sic) Mrs. Nona Johnson, Knoxville. Graveside services in Highland Memorial Cemetery, 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at Mann's. Church Avenue, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
She was a daughter of Joe Caddell (NOT Joel!) and Celia Baker, from Whitley Co., KY and Knox Co., TN. She had another son, Jack Ronald, who died in Detroit in 1989, but I have not located the cemetery wherein he was buried.
