Otto Edmund (Persson) Peterson was born on October 30, 1873 in Säby, Bjorksta Parrish, Sweden to Johannes Persson and Hanna "Larsdotter" Persson. He was the 4th born of five children. Otto immigrated to the USA in 1894 finally settling in Chicago. It was there that he married Alma Theresia Larsson on the 25th of October 1901. While in Chicago he was employed as a painter with the Pulman Railroad Co. Sometime after 1911 they moved to Kingsburg with their two children, settling on a 20 acre piece of land on Clarkson Ave, planting the vineyard that still survives to this date. In Kingsburg he farmed and painted houses to support his wife and five children. Surviving him were his wife and five children: Bernice Turk, Otis E. Peterson, Randolph A. Peterson, Harvey P. Peterson, Roger E. Peterson and 12 grandchildren.
