COLLINS, RAYMOND P. - age 85, of Knoxville, was called to join our Saviour, Sunday, May 12, 2002. He was a member of Basswood Baptist Church, and was retired from Robert Shaw. Veteran of the United States Army during World War II, from 1942 to 1945 in Europe. Preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Lillian Collins; brothers, Austin and Ed Collins. Survived by wife, Martha Zada Collins; two aunts, Bonnie Johnson and Stella Mingie; sister-in-law, Jeanette Bryant; special niece, Brenda Bates; great nieces, Lisa Lewis, Linda Alfrey, Leslie Wall, and Ashley Bates, and great nephew, Mark Lewis, and many other great and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Monday, Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, with Rev. Larry Cash and Rev. Guy Milam officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the main entrance to Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service. Pallbearers: John Alfrey, Matt Wall, Jason Carringer, Derik Davis, Shane Smith, and Deacon Dale Bradley. Honorary Pallbearers: David Bates and Lloyd Wall. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
