Agnes Elizabeth Hansen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and pastor at Tendercare of Ludington on April 29, 2016, just eighteen days short of her 103rd birthday.

Agnes, the oldest of eight siblings, was born May 17, 1913 to the late Nels and Serena (Pedersen) Lund of Ludington. She attended Eagle School and graduated from Ludington High School.

Agnes married Leo Hansen on Oct. 12, 1934 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ludington. She enjoyed over a century of family, farm life, faith and travel. Leo preceded her in death in 1990.

She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, MSU Extension clubs, neighborhood events and was 4-H leader. Agnes enjoyed all types of crafts, needle work, gardening, travel, and took up painting in her retirement years.

Agnes was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn (Chris) Pedersen; brother and sister-in-law, Louis (Virginia) Lund; brothers-in-law, Earl Jensen, Lawrence Cabot and Ed Larsen; father and mother-in-law. Carl and Marie Hansen; and son-in-law, Ivan Andersen.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Agnes will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington with Pastor Bill Huether officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to service. A private family burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
