He married Susanna "Susan" Watt Jul 8 1841 in Allen County Ohio. A consensus of family trees indicate Samuel and Susan had 13 children:
Mary Elizabeth (c 1843-1875) mar. Cyrus Bradigun
Jane (1844-> 1880)
William W ( 1846-?) mar. 1. Margaret ____, 2. Sarah Jane Davis
Elspy / Elsey (1848-1886) mar. Moses J McClure
Elijah (1849-?)
Infant son (1851-1851)
Sarah C (1852-?)
Ella / Eila(1855-1856)
John W (1860-1860)
Eliza Eleanor (1861-?)
Samuel Clement V (1862-1926) mar. Lola Estella Reno
Elva (1866-1884)
Most family trees have Samuel's death on Dec 12, 1885 just two weeks before Susanna's death on Christmas day.
I have not been able to find a burial record for Samuel and am assuming he is buried in Ward Cemetery. The cemetery records show that his wife Susanna and five children are buried there: Mary Elizabeth, Elspy, Infant son, John W, and Elva. Next to Elva's grave there are four graves that are illegible or missing stones. It is highly probably his grave is one of these, since other records indicate he died shortly before Susanna. After these graves are four Thomas graves which are for children of his sister Eleanor and her husband Griffith Thomas making all of Lot 21 and part of Lot 22 graves for this family.
His father Samuel is buried here, and his wife's mother Mary "Mollie" Jamison McCartney is also buried here. After her husband James died in 1835 Mollie lived with Samuel and her daughter Jane. All the graves in Lot 21, part of Lot 22, and others are her children and grandchildren.
It is highly probably he is buried there with his family and that the other three unidentified graves belong to this family.
