Robert Crews, 85, Died at Home in Gleason Jan. 3 (1951.)
Robert Crews, 85, died on Wednesday morning, Jan. 3, at his home in Gleason, following a long illness. He was born August 10, 1865 in Weakley County, 12th district, where he lived until a few years ago, when he moved to Gleason. He was a member of the Blooming Grove Methodist Church, a good Christian man. He leaves a host of friends to mourn his passing. Survivors are his wife, 2 daughters, Mrs. Alta Mae Robertson, Union City; Mrs. Marie Wheat, Lansing, Mich.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Juanita Brawner, McKenzie; Mrs. Bertie King and Mrs. Winona Glenn, Gleason; three brothers, Maywood Crews, Dyersburg; Edgar Crews, St. Louis; Claude Crews, Union City; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Brock of Wickliffe, Ky; Mrs. Lizzie Laster and Mrs. Minnie Scates of McKenzie; a number of grand children, nieces and nephews. Funeral services Friday morning at 11 at the Methodist Church in Gleason with burial in Beech Springs Cemetery. (Taken from unknown newspaper.)
