Louise Anne Lowetz, 99 of Brevort Lake passed away Sunday, May 1 at her home. She was born on January 25,1917 on the shore of Brevort Lake in a log cabin to William and Mary (Shulte) Luepnitz. She is the last survivor of a family of four, with siblings Joseph, Helen, and Fred. She married Joseph Peter Lowetz in 1932 at age 15, and went on to raise 10 children. She worked hard for her family, primarily as a domestic worker, too proud and honorable to take a handout of any kind. In her eyes, motherhood was her most important profession. Aside for liiving with her sister Helen, in Flint a short time, she spent her life at Brevort Lake. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Moran, and the Altar Society. Louise looked forward to visitors and loved family reunions., with conversations around the campfire. She also enjoyed traveling with the family, gardening, picking wild berries, bird watching and beautiful Brevort Lake sunsets. Louise was a true mother, grandmother, and loving friend to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed.
She is survied by her family; Lloyd (Oralia) of Perrin ,Texas; William R. of Brevort Lake; Alfred (Hollene) of Lowell; Ray (Polly) Brevort Lake; Michael of Dover, Delaware; Rosemary Irwin, Brevort Lake; Dee (Joe) Frazier, Brevort Lake; Lorraine (Arnold) Frazier, Naubinway; and MaryLou(Tom) Hass, of Middletown, Ohio; son in law Ronald Brown, St.Ignace; 37 granndchildren; 61 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, on January 26,1979, a grandson, Brad Frazier in 1982 and a daughter, Kathy on Feb 5,2010.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 3 from 4 to 7 pm at Dodson Funeral Home, St.Ignace. Prayers will be at 7 pm with Fr. Frank Ricca and Deacon Tom McClelland officiating. .Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 4 at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Moran with visitation from 10:30 to service time. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Condolances may be left at [email protected]. Pallbearers will be her sons and son in law.
