Herman Abrahamson was working on the railroad when he suffered a blow to his abdomen; he contracted gangrene, which led to his death.

According to the records of the local Lutheran church, Herman Abrahamson was living in "Iron Minnesota" at the time of his death. He died in Duluth on November 8, 1933 and was buried in Eveleth on November 11, 1933. John 6:39-40 was the scripture setting for his funeral service.

Herman Abrahamson, 54, Iron Junction, died in a Duluth hospital. He was born in Norway and had been an employee of the Duluth Missabe & Northern Railroad bridge and building department for 30 years. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America camp at Forbes, Minn. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Harry and Helge; two brothers, Carl of Alborn and Martinum of Grand Lake and his father and two sisters living in Norway. The body will be taken today to Eveleth for burial.
