Marvin was born in Albany and lived there with his mother after his parents divorced and his father
moved to California. He enlisted in the Marines 12 August 1965, at a recruiting office in Macon, Georgia.
Upon arriving in Vietnam, he was assigned to Subunit 1, 1st Anglico, FMFPAC. Marvin died as a result of skull fractures in a motor vehicle
accident.
Marvin served his country for 2 years.
