Loyal Earl Woods, 87, a 50-year resident of Palo Alto, died Aug. 31 in Palo Alto. A native of Ukiah, Calif., he was founder and captain of the Barron Park Volunteer Fire Department, installing the city's first air raid siren. He served as supervisor of the Palo Alto Main Power House and was also a 55-year member of IBEW. He is survived by two daughters, Roberta Delgado of Mountain View and Donna Anderson of Auburn, Calif., and one son, Loyal E. Woods III of Phoenix. Services have been held.
