Wade was the son of Leon Lonza Adams and Minnie Agnes Green Adams, who are buried at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, Louisiana. Wade was killed in a tornado at Strong on the late afternoon of May 9, 1927. School had been dismissed early that day due to the threatening weather, and Wade went to his after-school job at the Barbee Motor Company. He was there when the storm completely demolished the building. Wade had serious head injuries, but survived long enough to be taken to ROSAMOND Hospital in El Dorado, where he passed away.
