Edah was born on August 28, 1936 in Merritt, Michigan to Bennie and Elizabeth(Rayment) Carpenter. She grew up in the Moorestown area and graduated from Lake City High School. Edah was married on August 28, 1954 in Lake City to Clifton R. Halliday. She worked as the Office Manager for the family business, Halliday Sand and Gravel for many years. Edah attended the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed being with family and especially being with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving Edah are her loving husband of 61 years, Clifton R. Halliday of Houghton Lake; daughter, Lucendia Halliday of Belleville; son, Clifton (Debbie) Halliday Jr. of Houghton Lake; three grandchildren, Chauncey, Nathan (Amber), and Valentina; four great grandchildren, Jacob, Meghan, Brayden, and Khloe Halliday; sister, Ethel (Basil) Kobiska of Lake City; two brothers, B. Douglas Carpenter of Moddersville, and Zale (LuLu Belle) Carpenter of Falmouth. Edah was preceded in death by sister, Ilah Williams, and her parents.
Funeral Services for Edah L. Halliday will be conducted at 11:00am on Friday January 22, 2016 from Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church with Rev. Bryan Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 21, 2016 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of Edah are asked to be directed to the Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
