On Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the age of 90, Othella Katurah Burton Stallings slipped peacefully home to be with the Lord. Othella was born in Amherst County on May 25, 1925 to the late Henry and Hattie Burton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hayward Genius Stallings, Sr.
She is survived by many who will miss her dearly including one sister, Maefannie; three daughters, Wanda, Jennifere, and Rosa; four sons, Jesse, Douglas, Larry, and Mark, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
A homegoing service will be held 11 a.m. Satuday, April 16, 2016 at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Monroe. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Her remains will be open to the public one hour prior to the service. The family is receiving friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Community Funeral Home.
