DYER, Earl D., Sr. - Age 78, a retired newspaper distributor for the Flint Journal, of South Branch, MI, formerly of Flint, died Sunday, February 8, 1998 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Allegan, MI to Edward and Grace (Bush) Dyer. He served in the U. S. Army during WW II, where he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Dyer is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Earl Dyer of Lake City, Edward Dyer of Arkansas; daughters, Grace Bolen of WV, Dolly Scarbro of WV, Dorothy Vaughn of Mt. Pleasant, Monica Smith of South Branch; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; step-sons, Richard Hetherington of Swartz Creek, Dan Hetherington of Swartz Creek, Ron Hetherington of FL; stepdaughter, Janet Grandahl of WI; 10 step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; sisters, Leah Piper, Charlotte Sweezea and Geneva Freed. Visitation will be on February 11, from 5 to 7PM at the Forshee-Frizzell Funeral Home in Hale, MI. Services will be at 7PM at the funeral home with Pastor Donald Miller officiating. Visitation will be from the Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd., Flint on Thursday form 3-9PM. Funeral service will be Friday at 11AM at Brown Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Meadow View Memorial Gardens in Davison, MI. Forshee-Frizzell Funeral Homes, Inc., Hale, MI.
