James Biffel "Jimmy" "J. B." was the youngest son and last child of of James Trenton and Nina (Jones) DePreste. He was born in Miller, Lawrence County, Missouri, and died at the age of 12 years, 10 months, 14 days, at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond Heights, in St. Louis County, Missouri after a long extensive surgery for a malignant brain tumor. He was originally buried next to his infant sister Virginia Lee DePreste at Davis Cemetery, but in the 1970's his mother had him re-interred at Miller Memorial Gardens where he now rests next to his parents. His mother also wished to have his sister Virginia Lee moved to Miller Memorial Gardens at that time, but was advised against it as her burial had been so long ago.

Dad told me his little brother Jimmy had suffered terrible headaches, and Grandma and Granddad had taken him to several well known specialists in Missouri and Illinois, who all recommended St. Mary's Hospital in Saint Louis County, Missouri as the best hope for surgical removal of a malignant brain tumor. Little Jimmy lived for 13 hours after surgery, but he never regained conscientiousness. He passed away February 14, 1944 at 9:45 p.m.
