Ella Vista Davidson was one of at least four children born to Hezekiah Davidson, Jr. (1830-1910) and Ellen S. Haslet (1837-1910) in June 1861 at their Donation Land Claim in Buena Vista, Polk County, Oregon. Other siblings were Hezekiah Burkhart Davidson (1856-1906), John O. Davidson (1856-1928), and Joseph James Davidson (1868-?), all of the children being born in Buena Vista, Oregon on the family's farm. Hezekiah and Ellen had come to the Oregon Territory in 1847 with other Davidson relatives [Hezekiah Jr. was the son of my 3x great grandparents, Hezekiah Davidson (1789-1876) and Melissa Ann "Lucy" Page (1804-1877)]. All of Hezekiah Jr. and Ellen's children were born after the couple reached the Oregon Territory, which made them all 1st generation Oregonians. Ella Vista married Draper Cook Butler (1852-1922) in Polk County, Oregon in 1882 and they relocated to Pomeroy, Garfield County, Washington where he was a Farmer. Within a year of their marriage, their first of two children was born to them. They named their son Ralph. Little Olga was born in 1884. During this time, Ella's parents also relocated to Washington . Tragically, Ella passed from this life on February 4th, 1885. Both young Ralph and little Olga also died in 1885. All three were buried at Pomeroy City Cemetery in Garfield County, Washington.
Draper went on to remarry, but not until November of 1895 when he wed Minnie Ellen Travis (*born 1866 in Illinois) in Nez Perce, Idaho. By 1900, the couple had returned to Pomeroy, Washington and adopted an orphan child named Daisy (b.April, 1893). In 1910, they were living in Vineland, Asotin County, Washington on a farm. Their location was close to the Washington-Idaho border. Draper died in 1922 in Long Beach, California and his remains were returned to Washington where he was interred at Pomeroy City Cemetery, Garfield County, Washington, which held the remains of his 1st wife and two children. Minnie died in Los Angeles, California in 1951. May they all Rest in Peace.
Ella's brothers were with their parents when the 1900 Census was taken on June 2nd, 1900. Hezekiah, now 69, had retired; John O. was a harness maker, Hezekiah B. (twice widowed and father of a deceased daughter) was a city policeman and Joseph was a bookkeeper. By 1910, Ella Vista's parents and brother Hezekiah Davidson Burkhart had all died and been buried at Pomeroy City Cemetery. John O. Davidson may have died in Spokane in 1928. I've not found Joseph James Davidson's date and/or place of death and burial. Any further information regarding this family would be greatly appreciated.
