US Congressman. He relocated to Chicago, in 1880 and was business manager of the trade magazine Western Electrician, by 1887. In 1891, he was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-second and Fifty-third Congresses serving until 1895. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he engaged in the insurance business in Chicago, until his death.
