Henry Singleton Moore, III, 81, died Monday, October 16th , 2006 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Moore was born March 2nd , 1925 in Georgetown, a son of the late Lila Richardson Moore and Henry Singleton Moore, II.
He was a World War II Veteran having served in the Navy in the South Pacific Theatre. Mr. Moore was a graduate of Spartanburg Junior College and attended the University of S. C. and Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
He was employed as a night auditor for the Carolinian Motel for over 35 years.
Mr. Moore was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Georgetown. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid gardener, specializing in roses.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held a St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church on Friday, October 20th, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by The Rev. Ronald J. Farrell. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
A Wake Service and Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 19th, 2006 at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Lillian E. Moore; two sons, Henry S. Moore, IV and his wife Cherrin M. Moore of Georgetown and Michael S. Moore of Wetumpka, Ala.; a daughter Deborah M. Lambert and her husband Tony Lambert of Batesburg-Leesville; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Gene Moore of Enoree, Curtis Moore of Boiling Springs, and Danny Moore of Moore; three sisters, Bessie M. Wilson of Spartanburg, Janet Scruggs of Enoree, and Doris Clark of Boiling Springs.
Mr. Moore was predeceased by: his parents; a brother, Don Wilson of Spartanburg; and 3 grandchildren.
