ELIZABETH R. BUSSE
Mrs. Elizabeth Busse, 83, of 707 Franklin St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Norval W. Koch will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mrs. Busse, nee Elizabeth Streckert was born June 22, 1894 in the Town of Eaton, daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Damm Streckert. She attended Town of Eaton schools and was married to August Busse June 24, 1914 in the township where they owned and operated a cheese factory. Moving to Manitowoc to reside in 1924, Mrs. Busse was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid Society of the church and Manitowoc Senior Citizens. Mr. Busse preceded her in death in 1972.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Merl and Phyllis Busse of Manitowoc, Clifford and Lucille Busse of Yorba Linda, Calif., Robert of Riverside, Md., and Delmar with the U.S. Navy stationed at Port Heunene, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Rose and Myron Cegielski of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Lena Dehart of Appleton; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call in Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday and in the church from noon until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to First German Evangelical Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
