He was a long time resident of Whittier, Ca. He attended Mill Elementary School, Dexter Jr. High School; and graduated from Whittier High School in 1979.
Moving with his family to Victorville, Gerry attended Victor Valley College. Soon after moving back to Whittier; on January 30, 1983 he was a pedestrian in a hit and run accident and was left in a coma for over 9 months. He remained a quadriplegic for nearly 24 years.
Gerry will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Connie Calderon, four brothers; Gene (Laura) Calderon, Andrew (Leticia) Calderon, Kenny Calderon, Christopher (Marisa) Calderon, six sisters; Deborah (Art) Beiler, DiAnna (Butch) Musacco, Cynthia (Frank) Jimenez, Stephanie (Michael) Duron, Bernadine (Octavio) Cueva, Jennifer Calderon. 27 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews. Several aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
