A native of Mamie, N.C., Mr. Allcox was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. He had retired as a civil service employee at NAS Norfolk. He was also a past master of the Elizabeth Lodge No. 34 AM&FM and past president of the V.C.M.A.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine L. Allcox; three daughters, Patricia A. Harich of Gaithersburg, Md., Sherry A. Morris of Chesapeake and Elaine A. Pearce of Jarratt, Va.; a sister, Mary S. Wise of Eaton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Carl Sexton and the Rev. Dale Burden. Interment with Masonic rites will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
