Ruth Faye Dickson, age 87, of Gallipolis and formerly of Columbus, passed away Sunday evening, February 28, 2010 at Arbors at Gallipolis. Born March 22, 1922, in Gallipolis, Ohio she was the daughter of the late William and Vena Lewis Bunce. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Grant Dickson, three brothers Leo, Vernon and William Bunce and by two sisters Ruby Charchak and Beatrice Perkins. Ruth was the last of her family. Ruth retired in 1988 from the department of safety in the Columbus Police Department, prior to that she worked at naval ship yard in San Diego, California. She is survived by one son, Roger Dickson of Pomeroy; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the WAUGH-HALLEY-WOOD FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in the Bunce Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 6-8 p.m.
