Thomas Blount "Tom" was the son of James Elbert and Emily Jane Kelly McCracken. He was my paternal grandfather and is re-interred beside his first wife, Maggie L. Perren. Maggie was a native of Giles Co., Tennessee.

Grandpa Tom was the husband of (1) Maggie L. Perren. They were married 07 Feb 1897 in Lawrence Co., Tennessee. Maggie and Tom were the parents of Clura Myrtle, Emily Viola "Vi", Mayme Mary "Mamie", and Thomas Edward "Ed" McCracken. Maggie L. Perren McCracken died in April of 1909.

Tom's second wife was Martha Ella (Elizabeth) Wright. She was my Grandmother. Grandma Ella married Tom in 1910 in either Alabama, which was her birthplace, or Tennessee. In June of 1910, they were living in the household of John and Lena McCracken LeMay, along with Tom's children from his first marriage, in West Point, Tennessee. Tom and Ella were the parents of Jewel, Luther Blount and Mae Ople McCracken. Jewel and Mae Ople died in childhood and Grandma Ella died in Alabama in 1916, according to her death certificate. She, along with her two daughters, are buried in Limestone Co., Alabama.

Tom's third wife was Jennie Ann Hughes Hunt, the widow of James Robert Hughes. There were no children from this marriage and Tom and Jennie were later divorced.

The fourth wife of Thomas B. McCracken was Mamie B. Cox whose first husband was John H. Cox. Mamie died in Mississippi in 1988.

The following is from my father, Luther Blount McCracken:

"Thomas McCracken was married to Mayme Cox in Iuka, Tishomingo Co., Mississippi in the early 1930's. They had three children, 1 girl, Maxine, 2 boys, Loyd and Bobby. I don't know anymore information at the present, but I'm planning a trip early 1981 and will try to find them. They are around Clarksdale, Mississippi."
