DeAnne H. Novak, age 79, a Manitowoc resident, died on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
DeAnne was born on August 16, 1936 in Waupun, WI, daughter of the late Gordon and Rosetta (Steinert) LaBuwi. She graduated from Waupun High School with the class of 1954. DeAnne then graduated from Holy Family School of nursing in 1970, she then graduated from Alverno College in 1982 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. DeAnne served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel with the 44th General Hospital. DeAnne then started her career as a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc, retiring with Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in the Chemical Dependancy Unit. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter and son: Suzanne Stoltzman, Manitowoc and Brett Nelson, Green Bay; Five grandchildren: Misty LaBuwi of Manitowoc, Travis (Hollie) Nelson of Denmark, Shayna (Arnie) Abbet of Manitowoc, Kayla Nelson of Manitowoc, and Shane Nelson of Green Bay; 13 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. DeAnne was also preceded in death by one son: Scott Nelson; one granddaughter: Shaun Nelson; one great grandson Carter; one brother and one sister.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th St), Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Wendy Culver. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW Otto Oas Post #659.
