In 1809, Joseph Marble at age 57 and his wife, Susannah Elizabeth Butler migrated from Winchester, Cheshire County, New Hampshire to Fayston, Washington County, Vermont and located in the northern part of the town, where he built the first saw-mill in Fayston. The place passed out of the possession of the MARBLE family in 1882.
On September 21, 1837, Susannah Elizabeth Butler Marble, aged 78 years applied for her husband's pension at the Probate Court, in Waitsfield, Washington County, Vermont. Three years later, Susannah died at the age of 81.
