Addie M. “Tillie” Birchfield, 89, died at 5:55 a.m. Dec. 24, 2007, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
She was born March 2, 1918, in White Pine, Tenn., to Francis M. and Artie Spitzer Sartain, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 28, 1945, she married Robert M. “Bob” Birchfield, who died Jan. 1, 1990.
Mrs. Birchfield retired in 1962 as a sales clerk from S.S. Kresge Co. She attended Lima Baptist Temple and was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Larry D. Birchfield, of Michigan; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Birchfield, of Lima; four grandchildren, Nancy Lynne (Roy) Mumma, Stephen L. (Jodi) Birchfield Jr., April Birchfield and Michael S. Birchfield; and nine great-grandchildren, Drew, Kasey, Aaron, Katelyn, William, Justin, Morgan, Raistlin and Noah.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen L. Birchfield Sr.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. Pastor Derek Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
