Mr. Langtry died May 18, 2016 at Samaritan Hospital in Watertown. James is survived by his wife, Peggy of 21 yrs; three step children, John Ashley and wife Jari, Craig Ashley and wife Diane, and Cathy McDonell and husband Marc; one sister, Mary Bowden; 8 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren. James was predeceased by two sisters, Susan Dunham and Julie Rizza.
James was born on Dec. 25, 1939, in Ogdensburg, son of Mansel W and Kathleen Mead Langtry. He attended North Hammond schools and Hammond Central School & graduated in 1957. James married Peggy Ashley on Jul. 1, 1995 in Brier Hill. He owned and operated a dairy farm.
