Isabell Stephens Abbott (Mary Evelyn Burns Abbott) was born in a hotel in downtown Jonesboro Arkansas on Jan 25, 1922. Born to Herban Countis Burns age 20 from Courtland, Miss., occupation farmer, and Mary Frances Smith age 22 also from Courtland Miss., occupation housewife.
This couple gave the baby, for whatever reason, to the hotel housekeeper to give to John Toliver Stephens and Wrennie Lillian Nash Stephens
They raised her as their own but no legal adoption was ever done.
