He said to me, "You are my son; today I have become your Father." Psalm 2:7. Even though he will be missed dearly by family and friends, Andrew Hager is now at peace with his Father in Heaven.

Andrew Hager, 80, of Strasburg, ND, died October 17, 2006 at the Strasburg Care Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2006 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites provided by Strasburg VFW and the Linton American Legion.

Andrew was born on December 29, 1925 in Strasburg, ND, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Baumgartner) Hager. He was the eighth child out of twelve.

Andy married Angeline Burgad on February 12, 1947 in Strasburg, ND. They farmed west of Strasburg until his retirement.

During his life Andy was in the United States Navy, serving from June 1944 until November 1945. He was a KC member and an American Legion Member. Andy served on the Strasburg Elevator Board and also on the St. Peter and Paul's Church Board.

Andy's loves were his family, farming and in later years, fishing. His fishing buddy was Jimmy Schwab. Andy, along with his family, appreciated Jimmy's friendship and loyalty.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Angeline Hager of Linton, ND; three sons and four daughters-in-law: Andrew Jr. and Kristy Hager of LaMoure, ND, John and Sheila Hager of Bismarck, ND, Gary and Andrea Hager of Kenmare, ND and Julene Miller of Enumclaw, WA; four daughters and four sons-in-law: Shirley and Robert Thompson of Durham, NC, Marilyn and James Kuntz of Anchorage, AK, Karen and Dave Cameron of Littleton, CO and Sue and Kevin Bachmeier of Bismarck, ND; twenty three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters-in-law: Pius and Teresa Hager of Braddock, ND, Eddie and Hilda Hager of Timber Lake, SD and Joe and Katie Hager of Bismarck, ND; five sisters and three brothers-in-law: Helen Bachmeier of Bismarck, ND, Barbara and Sam Campbell of Richmond, CA, Alice Heidrich of Strasburg, ND, Irene and Max Heidrich of Strasburg, ND and Caroline and Don Herner of Wilton, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret, one son, Joseph in 1989, one grandson, Stephen Thompson in 1981; and three sisters: Katherine Welk, Julia Feist and Mary Zacher.
