Phyllis Thayer, 88; lived in Watertown
WATERTOWN -- Phyllis Laura Thayer, a longtime resident of Watertown, died Oct. 25 in Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 88.
Ms. Thayer was born in South Ashburnham and graduated from Ayer High School.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. She had lived in Watertown since 1947.
She leaves two sisters, Kathleen M. Downes of Watertown and Patricia J. Dwyer of Harrisburg, Pa.; three nieces, and a nephew.
She was the sister of the late Thelma A. Sherwin and Gertrude C. Downes.
A funeral Mass was said Friday in the Church of St. Patrick. Burial was in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
