Margaret Dean (Fisher) Walker of Fort Collins passed from this life to her heavenly home on May 15, 2016, at Medical Center of the Rockies, surrounded by her children and their spouses. Margaret was born on September 5, 1923, in Liberal, Kan., to Robert and Eva (Rossel) Fisher. Margaret grew up on the family farm where she developed her skills as a homemaker. She loved the piano and spent many hours in practice. She graduated from Liberal High School in 1940 and furthered her education by attending two years at Haviland Bible College, Haviland, Kan., where she met Max Walker. They were married on September 11, 1943. They made their home in Fowler, Kan., where they lived and worked on the Walker family farm. In the mid-to-late 1950's, Max and Margaret began to realize their dream of having their own manufacturing business, with a gas-powered golf car as their first product. Margaret worked as the secretary and treasurer for the fledging business while continuing as a full-time homemaker. In 1968, Walker Manufacturing Company was moved from Fowler, Kan., to Casper, Wyo., and in 1974, the business was relocated to Fort Collins, Colo., where the Walker Mower was developed and put into production in 1980.

Margaret was a steady and strong lady of dignity and style. She loved plants, butterflies, the piano, sewing and needle arts. She will be remembered as often quoting her favorite Scripture verse, I Thessalonians 5:18: "In everything give thanks..." and she would add, "not FOR all things, but IN all things," and she not only spoke it, but lived it. She was a member of the Loveland Church of the Nazarene.

Margaret was preceded in death by Max, her husband of 68 years, her parents, two sisters, Betty Williams and Carol Regier, and two brothers, Bradley Fisher and Donald Fisher, and a grandson, Daniel Max Walker. She is survived by two sons, two daughters, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren [survivors names omitted].

There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at Resthaven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, at the Timberline Church, South Auditorium, 2908 S. Timberline Road, Fort Collins, Colorado, with interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the Loveland Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, in care of the church, 807 W. 29th St., Loveland, CO 80538.--The Coloradoan, May 22, 2016
