Mrs. Duvall Williams 79, the former Katheryn Basye, died Aug. 15 in San Luis Obispo. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John T. Basye, early Bakersfield residents.
Mrs. Williams was born in the Virginia Colony area of Bakersfield in 1895.
Mrs. Williams and her husband, who preceded her in death several years ago spent all of their active lives in the cattle business in Kern and Madera counties. They moved from Bakersfield about 40 years ago, taking up residence in Madera County. Upon retirement they moved to Cayucos about 20 years ago.
Survivors include Catherine Stevens of Yerington, Nevada, and two grandsons. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Cancer Society office in Bakersfield. Acknowledgments may be mailed to Mrs. Catherine Stevens, P.O. Box 566, Yerington, Nevada 89447.
