Helen L. Allen, 82, of Linden, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, at home.
She was born April 27, 1929, in Pine Creek Township, the daughter of Leroy J. and Mabel M. (Hill ) Slaugenwhite Sr.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, George C. "Shorty" Allen, in 1993.
She retired in 1991 from Woolrich Woolen Mills.
Helen was a former member of the VFW No. 5859, Jersey Shore Moose and American Legion Auxiliaries.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan D. (Terry) Karichner of Linden, Sharon A. (Rex) Caseman, and a son, Wayne D. Allen, all of Jersey Shore; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Evelyn Moore, Grace Gardner and Judy Stroup; and a brother, Daniel Lee Slaugenwhite.
Relatives and friends are invited to Helen's Life Celebration at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
