Hughes' Service Station built on the former Hotel Ednor site next to Whitcomb's Drug Store will open officially Saturday. The fine modern structure is built with the idea of rendering the best possible service to tourists with the lubratorium and wash room containing the finest equipment. Two modern pumps are located in front of the building with easy access to the motorist. The Service Station is a frame building with a cement foundation and overhead doors. The lubratorium is separate from the spacious office and in another part are modern rest rooms. Norman "Bud" Hughes will feature Gulf products with a full line of tires and other accessories. Norman A. Hughes is the son of Bertha J. and James B. Hughes. He married in Ashland, on May 27, 1935, Helen M. Sanborn, daughter of Edgar W. and Sadie E. (Ames) Sanborn. Norman was a salesman and Helen was a nurse. They were married by J. Franklin Babb, Clergyman of New Hampton (Sadie is my Godmother).
