Born in Greenville, South Carolina a son of the late James Anderson and the late Cora Irby Anderson. He was educated in the public schools of Greenville County. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army and a retired employee of Duke Power. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Irby Anderson of the home; three sons, Lewis Spencer Anderson of Simpsonville, SC, Anthony Keith Anderson and Tony (Felia) Anderson both of Greenville, SC; one daughter, Candi L. Anderson of the home; three brothers, James (Shirley) Anderson Jr., Ted Lee (Audrey) Anderson both of Greenville, SC and Willie (Bishop Rena) Anderson of Piedmont, SC; four sisters, Mary L. Bell of Piedmont, SC, Rosella (Rufus) Farley of Greenville, SC, Willie Mae Jenkins of Simpsonville, SC and Mattie Lue Lee of Greenville, SC; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
