Arnold Poole was a Lieutenant for the Rhode Island State Police. He was killed in the line of duty at age 37. He was attempting to serve an Arrest Warrant on a suspect in Wickford, Rhode Island, at the man's home. The suspect fought with Lt. Poole, after Lt. Poole fell to the ground, the suspect shot him. After a brief search, other State Troopers located the suspect, they shot and killed him. Lt. Poole was posthumously awarded the agency's State Police Service Ribbon.
