FUNERAL OF MRS. T. W. MEMORY
The funeral took place at St. Peter's Church on Thursday afternoon of Mrs. Thomas William Memory, whose death removes a Sherbrooke lady who enjoyed a wide circle of friends who deeply mourn her passing. Following a Rebekah service at the residence, King street west, which was in charge of Princess Rebekah Lodge members, the cortege proceeded to St. Peter's Church. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. W. H. Chcverton, of St Paul's Church, assisted by Rev Canon H. R. Bigg, rector of St. Peter's Church. Members of the choirs of St. Paul's and St. Peter's Churches were in attendance and rendered the hymns, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Abide With Me." At the conclusion of the sen vice, interment took place in Elmwood cemetery, Rev. Mr. Cheverton offering prayers at the graveside. The bearers were Arthur Taylor, Charles Bramhall, Garland Page, Melvin Ferguson, Sydney Spanswick, Kenneth Muzzey and Guy Thomas. The late Mrs. Memory who before her marriage was Mary Elizabeth Stancombe, was horn at Buckfastliegh, Devon, England, on August 13, 1871 (actually 1868), and was married to Thomas William Memory on November 4, 1899. She was a resident of Sherbrooke since 1915 and was a member of St. Paul's Church. Although not enjoying the best of health, Mrs. Memory took an active interest in church work and was a willing worker and devoted members of the Ladies' Guild. Possessed of a sympathetic and loving nature, she won the respect and esteem of all who came in contact with her and she counted numerous friends throughout the community. She is survived by her husband, Thomas William Memory; one son, Leslie Memory, of Sherbrooke; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. L. Memory; a niece, Mrs. Garland Page, of Sherbrooke, and several cousins including Richard Stancombe, of Lawrence, Mass., and A. Stancombe, of Fitchburg, Mass.

Numerous floral tributes, and messages of sympathy were evidence of the high esteem in which the late Mrs. Memory was held by her many friends and acquaintances.
