James Harvey Childers was born in November 1841. He was a son of Peter Ambrose & Elmira Mary "Myra" (Wike) Childers.
He was first married to Elizabeth Catherine Bowles sometime around 1859-1860. He was listed in the 1860 Census living in the household of his father with his wife, mother, siblings, & paternal grandparents.
Harvey & Catherine had their first child- a son- in 1861. They had 8 more before Catherine died in January 1883; aged 39.
In 1870 & 1880, Harvey, Catherine, & children were living in Alexander County, North Carolina; in Sugar Loaf Township in 1870 & in Gwaltneys Township in 1880.
Later on 13 September 1883 in Iredell County, NC, Harvey married Elizabeth Jane Wilson. They had 3 known children together. They were living in Gwaltneys Township, Alexander County, North Carolina in 1900.
When Harvey was 65 years old- in 1907- he passed away. He was survived by his second wife, his step-mother, 6 children, & many grandchildren. He was most likely buried in the Munday Cemetery in Alexander County, NC.
