Lucy Betts was the daughter of William and Mary Taylor Betts. Her father was lost in a shipwreck on the Atlantic Ocean in 1819. She was raised by her mother and her Aunt Esther Betts Coxether. She married Theophilus Huggins July 06, 1837. They had the following children:Lucy Betts (m.Nicholas Bowden) Jessie Adelaid (m. David W. Ketchum), Isadora V.(m. Samuel W. Vick), Charles Betts Huggins. Lucy and her husband Rev. Theophilus Huggins are at rest in Oakdale Cemetery.
