Ora Mae Guyer, age 87, of Mishawaka passed away on May 21, 2016 at her home. She was born November 27, 1928 to George William and Jennie Lee (Woods) Nelson in Wickes, Arkansas. In 1978 she reentered the workplace with employment in several different machine shops. Her final position was with Master Metal Engineering where she machined precision surgical and dental instruments. She retired in October 2000. She enjoyed playing solitaire, reading, jigsaw puzzles, owls, and animals in general. Ora loved to be outside gardening and mowing her lawn. Ora is survived by her children, Ron (Holly) Guyer, Deb (Tom) McArthur, Janet (Jim) Ferro all of Elkhart, Barb Stump of Mishawaka, Randy (Tori) Guyer of Fishers, In, Jenny (Jay) Rudynski of Wake Forest, NC; 18 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; her sister, Helen Allen of Independence, MO; and many nieces and nephews of which, Ora was especially close to Opal and Paul Erzinger, Georgia Short, and David Andrews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Eric John Guyer; three brothers and three sisters. There will be a time of visitation on Friday, May 27, 2016, from 12-2 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. A funeral service to celebrate Ora’s life will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens following the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Pet Refuge 4626 Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614 or Saint Joseph County Humane Society 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545 in Ora’s honor.
